Health, Safety & Environment
Zero Harm is not a target — it is the standard against which every XPLOM operation is measured.
Safety Is Embedded in How We Work
At XPLOM, health and safety is not a compliance exercise. It is a core operational discipline that shapes how we plan, mobilise, execute and close out every project. Our HSE management system is built on the principle that all incidents are preventable, and that protecting our people is the foundation of reliable project delivery.
Our field teams operate under documented safe work procedures, daily hazard identification processes and a culture of personal accountability. Every crew member is empowered to stop work when conditions are unsafe — without exception and without consequence.
We work on projects where our clients demand the highest safety standards. That expectation is one we share, and it is reflected in our performance record across more than 20 years of operations in demanding environments.

Our HSE Framework
Leadership & Accountability
HSE performance starts at the top. Senior management sets expectations, reviews performance and participates directly in field safety activities. Every supervisor is accountable for the safety of their crew.
Risk Management
Systematic hazard identification and risk assessment before and during every operation. Job Hazard Analyses, pre-task planning and management of change procedures are standard practice on all XPLOM projects.
Training & Competency
All personnel are trained to the competency level required for their role. Training records are maintained and reviewed. No crew member operates equipment or performs a task without verified competency.
Incident Prevention
Near-miss reporting, hazard observation programmes and regular safety inspections drive continuous improvement. We investigate every incident and near-miss to identify root causes and prevent recurrence.
Emergency Preparedness
Site-specific emergency response plans are developed for every project. Crews are trained in emergency procedures, first aid and evacuation. Communication systems and emergency equipment are verified before mobilisation.
Environmental Stewardship
We operate with respect for the environments in which we work. Waste management, spill prevention, water management and site rehabilitation are managed to regulatory requirements and client standards on every project.
Operational Safety Procedures
Environmental Responsibility
XPLOM recognises that our operations take place in environments that require careful stewardship. We implement site-specific environmental management plans on every project, covering waste management, chemical handling, water management, spill prevention and site rehabilitation.
Our environmental procedures are designed to meet or exceed regulatory requirements in every jurisdiction where we operate. We work closely with clients and regulators to ensure our operations leave a minimal footprint and that disturbed areas are rehabilitated to agreed standards.
